....a day in the life of...

Well it's not a secret that we are a 'get up and go' type of family... because there's six of us it's hard to decide what we do as a family. One thing is for sure though... we all LOVE the outdoors!! Here are a few pics of our adventure out to Redwood park the other day.
This is my little Madelyn. She is my craziest child so far. She jumps from the top stair to the floor and she walks along the edge of the couch. I'm hoping it won't last long ;)

This is Hailey. She USED to be my crazy child!! Either Madelyn is WAY crazier or Hailey's calmed with age. She is my little 'poser' (ha ha). She LOVES being in front of the camera... if she sees it out, she will literally dive in front of it.

This beautiful young lady is Brooklyn. She doesn't quite belong to me but we love her just the same.

This is my son Gabe. He's a mumma's boy (for now). His sense of humor exceeds him, and his personality is a nice change. Years of Barbies and Hair elastics, now playing with Cars and Dinosaurs, I LOVE how he growls at people (HA HA), my girls would never dream of it!

This is Keyrah. She is the oldest of the group. A first born leader. She's a little camera shy but likes being on the other end of the camera, that means she's taking after mum. She has a camera in her pocket and takes it EVERYWHERE. I'm proud that she takes such care when dealing with her sisters and her brother, it's tough being the oldest of four... something I know quite well.

happy birthday shaylene

Our little neighbour turned 3 the other day. We were invited out to the 'suburbs' of Burnaby to ride mini trains... It was pretty cool :)

Proud Grandpa!!

Hope you had a fabulous day Shaylene! We had a WONDERFUL time celebrating your 3rd birthday!

~ release ~

I've been 'collecting' the local paper for some time. My hubby and I have been planning to move for a while now, so slowly I've been packing one box at a time. Now that we will be moving for certain I've been putting my box packing skills into high gear. While I was packing up picture frames the other day I noticed an add in the local paper for a park re-opening. I was hesitant to go at first as my family had been invited to an open house later on that day but I'm glad I decided to go because Surrey sure knows how to throw a party!
We started the day off with free food and drinks, free entertainment, a live band, bouncy castles, face painting and cartoon sketches, mini golf, a ride in the bucket of a city truck and the release of salmon! What an amazing day!!

Madelyn showing off her hot dog!

This ventriloquist lady was pretty hilarious!

........and of course the ribbon cutting to make it all 'official'

On a whim I decided to submit some of my photos to the local newspaper - the same one that had advertised the event in the first place. I was elated when the publisher called me on my cell phone the next day - they wanted to use MY photos to run for the story! As a newbie this call meant a lot. Amanda Sanderson Photography was becoming a reality. I was over the moon excited! I started posting all over my facebook, emailing family and friends and calling everyone I knew wasn't always online. It didn't hurt that my kids would be in the paper either (ha ha). AMAZING.

At this moment I'm trying to figure out how I can steal my neighbors paper so I can have more than one copy. You can view the online article here
